About Rexton Elementary

Rexton Elementary School (RES) is home to 324 students, each contributing to the collective enthusiasm and pride that defines our school community. We take pride in being part of a diverse and welcoming school that reflects the best aspects of rural New Brunswick and Kent County. Our staff members are dedicated and work tirelessly to ensure students receive the support and guidance they need to succeed. The sense of community at RES is strong, and we all come together to create a supportive, inclusive environment for both learning and personal growth.

We are incredibly proud of the efforts put forth by our teachers, who are committed to ensuring that every student has what they need to succeed academically and personally. Students at RES can take pride in their achievements, whether they are academic or personal, and in the contributions they make to the school community. We also value our extended community of parents and local supporters, who are always ready to lend a helping hand. This support strengthens the foundation upon which our students can build their futures.

There are many things that make RES special. First, our school is home to over three hundred students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, including Indigenous communities and families from all walks of life. This diversity adds a richness to our school community, and we celebrate it in many ways. One of our cherished annual traditions is the Halloween Walk-A-Thon, where students and staff dress in costumes and parade around the block, sharing their school spirit with the community.

At RES, we also offer many opportunities for students to explore their interests and talents. Whether it’s participating in Drama Club, Movie Club, Environmental Club, or the Mi’kmaw Language and Culture Club, students have a chance to engage in activities that reflect their passions. Our Lego Spike Club in French, as well as daily intramurals like pickleball and volleyball, provide additional outlets for student involvement and team-building. We are proud to offer these diverse activities, ensuring that all students can find something they enjoy and can be part of a thriving school culture.
